We looked at this place for quite awhile on craigslist before going to see it. The pictures were so pretty we just had to take a look. Jerome fell in love with the spiral staircase and I loved the modern, stainless steel kitchen. We were excited when we finally went to see the place but also a bit nervous. Some apartments look great in pictures but terrible in person. We didn't want to set ourselves up for a let down. Lucky for us, the apartment was great.
First off, the house is in Roslindale, MA which is just a quick 10 minute ride down to Boston. The neighborhood is full of kids and trees and friendly old people. It's very domestic, kind of like Leave it to Beaver. There's even a white picket fence! We're on the second and third floors of the house. The second floor has a full, modern bath, a bedroom, the living room, dining room, office, laundry room, pantry, and kitchen.
In the dining room is a spiral staircase leading upstairs to the third floor master bedroom. The master bed is the old attic. It's been completely renovated and turned into a huge bedroom with three skylights, tons of closet space, and a second bathroom with an extra large shower and plenty of storage. There are also trap doors throughout the bedroom and downstairs that add character and charm. It's just so cute!!
We're going to drop off our contract and first payment this afternoon, then it will really be official! After that, I'll of course keep you up dated on every new color scheme and layout I come up with for the new apartment. We move in September 1 so I don't have much time!
