Spring DIY: Spackle

One fact of renting, patching up holes. In the eight months we've lived in the apartment, I've mounted a TV, hung shelves and guitars, and thumbtacked records up in the livingroom, so believe me when i say I've got a LOT of holes to fix before moving day.

My miracle: Patch N Paint. The lightweight spackling is perfect for getting the job done quickly. For $3.27, you get a half pint tub of spackling, which is enough to patch an apartment full of holes.
When I first opened the container, I didn't know whether to eat the stuff or patch...it looks like a tub of whipped cream! My suggestion, DON'T EAT IT unless you want to end up in the emergency room! Once you fill the hole with spackling and level it with your putty knife, it only takes 15 minutes to dry, then it's time to paint!

I've used the Patch N Paint several times now with no problem. I tried other spackling, including the fancy kind that goes on pink and dries white when it's ready to be painted over, but the quick-drying formula of the Patch N Paint is my favorite.

Happy Patching!
