The LA Times is running a new feature where they challenge local artists to transform otherwise boring, mass-produced pieces. I couldn't be more excited! This week, they challenged Rebecca Johnson and Jeff Klarin of Bughouse Art & Design to transform the Ikea Varde wall shelf. Rebecca and Jeff were able to create three awesome designs:
As a record collecting faux bois lover who has a weakness for painting things chrome, I couldn't be happier with the pieces they created. I'm planning on using the faux bois technique to jazz up my bookcases a little more and you might see me doing a record decoupage too! For more, check out the LA Times article.
